They believe, that the gloomy, dark atmosphere of St.Petersburg, the northernmost metropole of the world, has a deep impact on their work, which can be described as a rather dark pop, with influences of indie electro and post-rock. It offers a certain deepness, which is not often found in pop-productions these days.
All the songs have been recorded in St.Petersburg, together with a couple of Russian musicians like Ilya Rysin (trumpet), or Andrey Orlov, a well known drummer in St.Petersburg, who was a leading member of one of the first electronic bands in Russia Dedushki. Then the album was mixed in Vienna.
The Frozen Orchestra performs live as a Duo, or as a full blown band and played many concerts, also as support for artists like 65daysofstatic, Yann Tiersen, Patrick Wolf or Yoav..
